Generator Services
Maintenance, diagnostics, installation and commissioning for standby and prime-power generator sets on industrial and commercial sites.
Typical situations
- A standby generator fails to start, trips on an alarm or shuts down under load.
- A generator has not been tested under load and its readiness is uncertain.
- A new generator set needs installation, interface checks and commissioning.
- The controller, AMF (automatic mains failure) or ATS (automatic transfer switch) interface is not behaving as expected.
- The site needs temporary power during an outage, maintenance or a project phase.
What we do
- Preventive maintenance: inspection, fluids and filters, batteries and charging, cooling circuit, alarms and safety shutdowns.
- Fault diagnosis and corrective work on engine, alternator, starting and control systems.
- Load testing, including load-bank testing where the site cannot provide a suitable real load.
- Mechanical and electrical installation, and functional commissioning of new generator sets.
- Controller, AMF and ATS interface checks and troubleshooting.
Confirmed after survey or agreed separately
- Rental and temporary-power arrangements: availability, ratings and whether units are supplied directly or arranged with a partner are confirmed for each enquiry.
- Overhaul support: the split between our team and specialist workshops is agreed per job.
- Parts supply depends on the engine and alternator make; lead times are confirmed at quotation.
- Manufacturer warranty work remains with the manufacturer or its authorised agent.
Engineering interfaces
- Fuel supply and day tank
- ATS / AMF and LV distribution
- Ventilation, exhaust and cooling air
- Earthing and cable connections
- Starting batteries and battery charger
Typical deliverables, as agreed
- Service or inspection record
- Findings with recommended corrective actions
- Load-test record, where testing is in scope
- Commissioning checklist for new installations
Frequently asked questions
Which generator brands do you work on?
Our team has experience with equipment from several manufacturers, shown under Equipment Experience. Send the engine, alternator and controller models so we can confirm scope. This experience does not mean manufacturer authorisation.
What do you need to quote maintenance?
The generator make, model and rating, running hours, controller type, site location and any current alarms or symptoms.
Is load-bank testing always necessary?
No. Whether a load-bank test is useful depends on how the generator is used, its condition and whether the site can provide a representative real load. We recommend it only when it answers a specific question.
